We specialize in the design of trenchless installation and rehabilitation applications and condition assessment programs. An opportunity currently exists for a Trenchless Rehabilitation Specialist / EIT within our Water Group. The ideal candidate will be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for trenchless design. The Trenchless Rehabilitation Specialist / EIT is expected to perform a variety of tasks which may include design calculations, report and proposal writing, field work, coordination of tasks, and meeting attendance and recording. In general, the role will involve supporting and assisting engineers/designers in the execution of projects to ensure sufficient delivery, resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and leading the design as appropriate.

Your Key Responsibilities

Support multi-disciplinary projects as a trenchless designer, related to new build and infrastructure renewal

Support the development and review of condition assessment projects

Undertake detailed studies and design tasks associated with trenchless projects

Perform project administration, including coordination of and preparing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals,



drafting correspondence, completing progress reports, and assisting in design management

Write reports and design briefs

Take responsibility for the quality of your written, technical and graphic work, and for completing work on-time and on-budget

Coordinate design drawing and specification development

Understand and implement industry standards and manuals as well as client and regulatory agency standards and requirements.

Conduct alternative analyses to support business case evaluations for making project decisions.

Participate and lead in the design as skills dictate to ensure efficient project delivery.

Attend internal, client, and contractor meetings and potentially document the meetings with minutes

Contract Administration support as required for trenchless construction

Assist with site visits and field investigations as necessary

Perform other duties as required

Engage in leadership in Professional organizations that align with your expertise; write technical papers and deliver technical presentations for conferences.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Registration with PEO (or other Canadian Professional Engineering body as appropriate) as a member-in-training, or eligible to register.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities and adjust to changing demands

Ability to work in a team environment, taking initiative to help out where needed to balance team workloads.

Collaborative in nature, with the ability to contribute to multidisciplinary teams.

Commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is second to none.

Strong working knowledge of municipal infrastructure design and construction with an emphasis on trenchless technologies and rehabilitation of sewers, watermains, electrical and communication conduits, and gas pipelines.

Previous experience working in a role involving trenchless design and/or construction support will be considered an asset.

Working knowledge of various software for planning and design of trenchless installations and rehabilitation (AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar) will be considered an asset.

Working knowledge of various geotechnical modeling software used for planning and design of trenchless installations (Rocscience 2D&3D, PLAXIS2D&3D, Midas GTS NX, FLAC3D) will be considered an asset.

Education and Experience

B.Sc.



or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.

M.Sc., M.Eng. or greater in Trenchless Engineering or related field will be considered an asset.

Valid G license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset.

Min 4 years related experience (including Co-op/Internship) or advanced academic studies preferred.

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range:

Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$75,800.00 - $109,900.00 Annually

Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$80,300.00 - $116,500.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
