Salary and ContractThis is a 12 month contract with an expected salary range of CA$80,000.00 - CA$85,000.00 per year.The RoleUnder the supervision of the Procurement Supervisor, the position is responsible for procuring supplies and equipment, goods, materials, and services at the most favorable price for the company while simultaneously building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors.Duties & ResponsibilitiesProcure goods, materials, and services in a timely, cost-effective manner from strategic vendorsManage and maintain appropriate inventory levels for key items, reviewing MRP data and forecasts regularlyPrepare and administer bids, RFQs, RFPs, and vendor documentationExpedite and monitor purchase orders, vendor confirmations, and shipments; resolve shortagesor delays to minimize operational impactMaintain supplier portfolios, verify invoice accuracy, and resolve billing discrepancies with professionalismReview and prepare timely reports on inventory performance, including backorders, fulfillment, and reorder pointsPartner with vendors to foster strong, cooperative relationships and negotiate returns, credits, or replacements as neededDrive continuous improvement across inventory and procurement processes, including strategic sourcing and data accuracyCollaborate with Product Management to review forecasts, inventory adjustments, and demand planningDevelop and execute strategic plans to optimize centralized procurement and regional inventory investment to meet customer and manufacturing needsMonitor supply market and pricing trends to anticipate and adjust purchasing strategiesCoordinate with other Buyers for volume discounts and communicate required lead times to business unitsPerform annual vendor pricing updates and maintain accurate costing dataProvide guidance and support to team members to promote collaboration and professional growthEnsure compliance with all department and company policies and proceduresProvide direction and back-up coverage within the Inventory department, as requiredQualificationsCollege Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Science, or a related fieldProfessional designation in Supply Chain or Procurement (e.G., SCMP, CSCL, MCIPS, CPIM, CSCP, or CTSC.)A university degree in a related field is an assetMinimum 9 years of related procurement experienceStrong working knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, and/or Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems requiredAdvanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word etc.) with advanced Excel skillsStrong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skillsProven ability to prepare bids, quotes, and procurement documentation with accuracy and attention to detailDemonstrated commercial awareness and understanding of target market to identify and predict trendsAbility to use effective persuasive, influencing, and/or counselling skills; securing the cooperation of others is an ongoing part of the jobExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsHighly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesCollaborative, team-oriented, and adaptable to changing prioritiesAlignment with John Brooks values: People First, Customer Focus, Pursuit of ExcellenceWork EnvironmentFast-paced environment in a dynamic competitive industryDaily customer and inter-departmental/branch communication via telephone calls, faxes, emails, and virtual meetingsExposure to deadlines, multiple demands and priorities, multi-tasking, and interruptionsBenefitsWe will help you grow so that we can continue growing.We are committed to providing equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
