Education and Experience
Education: Secondary school graduation certificate

Experience: Seven months to less than one year of relevant cooking experience

Job Duties

- Determine appropriate food portion sizes and related costs.
- Plan menus and estimate the food requirements for their preparation.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
- Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes.
- Prepare suitable dishes for customers with food allergies or food intolerances.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas.




- Train staff in food preparation, cooking and protected food-handling procedures.
- Supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
- Clean kitchen and work areas.
- Manage kitchen operations.

Certificates and Requirements
Certification: Food Safety Certificate

Cuisine Specialization: Canadian and international cuisine

Security and Safety: Criminal record check
