Job Description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Delegate performs preventative maintenance,



demand maintenance, and project work approaching the journeyman level on a variety of equipment and systems. May supervise designated maintenance staff and/or contractors as assigned.

Travel may be a requirement of this position. If applicable, transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and the incumbent must be able to operate a motor vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Grade 10, and four years recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid BC Driver's License.

Skills And Abilities

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
