The Township is currently looking for someone to join our office team as Full-Time Finance Clerk.ResponsibilitiesProcessing Accounts Payable in adherence to the Procurement By-lawVerifying authorized approval, workflows, and appropriate supporting documentation and codingEnsuring accuracy of invoice totals, HST, dates, payment terms and discountsEnsuring that vendor invoices are paid within payment terms and communicating with the vendor any explanations/revisionsResponding to internal and external inquiries and providing instruction with regards to Account Payable questionsComplete bank deposits maintaining accurate records, providing written receipts, compiling deposit slipsMeet all year-end deadlines for input, verification and posting of invoices including preparation of documentation for year-end accruals and prepaidsAct as Health and Safety Coordinator and compile/maintain the Health and Safety Policy ManualAct as Secretary to the Oil City Cemetery BoardAssist with Records Management in accordance with adopted policyAnnual tracking of energy use for reporting purposesCompleting quarterly HST/GST ReturnsWorking well within a fast-paced office team environmentMeeting all legislative deadlines where requiredAssisting with other duties as required including answering phone calls and inquiries at the front counterQualificationsMinimum Grade 12 EducationTwo-year College Diploma in Business, Accounting or Similar and One (1) to Two (2) years of accounts payable experience would be considered beneficialCompletion of AMCTO Municipal Accounting and Finance Program or the willingness to enroll and complete courses will be requiredAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and manage interruptions throughout the day in a fast-paced, small office environmentWillingness to continue training and education on a continuous basisSalary and BenefitsThis position offers a salary ranging from $59,000 - $65,000 with enrollment in the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) and a comprehensive benefits package.
