Our Distribution group is currently seeking Journeyperson Powerline Technicians (PLT) to join our growing team, in the Timmins, ON area.Reporting to the Construction Foreman, PLT's are responsible for construction of overhead and underground electrical power distribution systems. This is a hands-on role where your technical ability and commitment to safety will directly support our operations and team culture.Please Note: Candidates must reside locally or within a reasonable commuting distance. These projects will be for unionized worksites. Candidates must be willing to join Canadian Union of Skilled Workers (CUSW).Duties and Responsibilities:Maintain steel / wood poles, towers, and guy wiresInstall overhead and underground power lines, insulators, conductors, transformers, switches, and associated equipmentPerform conductor stringing, sagging, clipping, and dead-ending (energized and de-energized)Execute advanced system switching tasks, including reclosers and loop feedsPerform UG (underground) cable testing, terminations, and equipment installationSplice, solder, and insulate conductors for connectionsModel safe work practices and ensure crew adherence to Valard’s HSE policiesMentor apprentices and junior personnel in tasks, safety protocols, and equipment useProficiently carry out advanced live line work procedures and teach basic live line procedures to apprenticesLead or assist with job hazard assessments, fall protection plans, and critical lift plansEnsure proper documentation of safety forms, inspections, and procedural complianceSubmit daily documentation and reportsJourneyperson Powerline Technician (434A or Red Seal)Demonstrated experience in the utility construction sectorDirect power distribution experienceDemonstrated experience in energized work, system switching,



and UG installationsClass 4 Rubber Glove experienceUnderstanding of construction and maintenance practices for distribution systemsAbility to read construction prints and electrical schematicsValid Drivers Licence with ability to provide an acceptable Drivers Abstract (Preference for Commercial Drivers Licence)Preference for Confined Space Certificate, UWPC, Working at Heights Cert, First Aid (CPR/AED)This project will be a unionized worksite.
