ABOUT OUR OPERATION

The objective of Sanajiksanut is to increase Inuit workforce in all of AEM’s Nunavut operations by contributing to the development of skills and competencies of the Inuit population in the Kivalliq region. The Sanajiksanut Process is composed of 4 steps: Employment Information Session, Online Application, Pre-employment Training, and Employment. In completing these stages of the Sanajiksanut Process, applicants will better prepare themselves for future employment with AEM or one of its contractors.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Security Officer, the Security Guard is part of the Health & Safety department and collaborates with other departments of the mine.

Tasks:

- Control traffic on the road between Baker Lake and Meadowbank Mine Site;
- Report location of the vehicles on the road;
- Assure security on AWPR to Meadowbank;
- Dispatch communications on the road;
- Produce reports inherent to the function;
- Any other duties required by the Supervisor.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

- Work experience as Security Guard is an asset;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Must be reliable and show up as scheduled;
- Health & safety oriented;
- Ability working with computers (Microsoft Work & Excel);
- Willingness to learn;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
- Ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral & written);
