On behalf of our client, a Vancouver-based digital consulting firm specializing in custom software and digital product delivery, we are seeking a Senior Product Owner – Digital Solutions to join a highly collaborative, design-led delivery team.This is a senior, hands‑on Product Owner role operating at the intersection of user experience, business strategy, and technical delivery. The successful candidate will play a critical role from early discovery through delivery, ensuring that complex client needs are translated into explicit, actionable product direction while maintaining strong design integrity throughout implementation.The environment is fast‑paced and client‑facing, requiring comfort with ambiguity, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead multiple initiatives in parallel. This role goes beyond backlog management — it requires deep engagement in workflows, user journeys, and solution shaping, particularly in enterprise and mid‑market client contexts.The ideal candidate is a hands‑on Product Owner with a strong UX foundation, capable of shaping solutions from early discovery through delivery rather than operating solely as a backlog administrator.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Ownership & DiscoveryOwn and manage product backlogs across one or more client engagementsLead discovery efforts and translate ambiguity into explicit, prioritised requirementsDefine acceptance criteria and outcomes before development beginsMake and communicate trade‑offs around scope, sequencing, quality, and riskLead UX and UI design from concept through deliveryDefine user flows, interaction patterns, and interface directionEnsure usability, accessibility, and coherence across digital productsPartner closely with engineering teams to preserve design intent during developmentDelivery & CollaborationWork with cross‑functional teams (engineering, design, client services)
to support estimation and delivery planningProvide ongoing product and design guidance during implementationIdentify delivery risks early and collaborate on mitigation strategiesClient PartnershipAct as a trusted product partner for clients, guiding conversations around feasibility, prioritisation, and valueFacilitate alignment across business and technical stakeholdersCommunicate progress, decisions, and risks clearly and proactivelyLeverage AI‑assisted tools to improve research synthesis, ideation, documentation, and backlog refinementExperiment thoughtfully with emerging tools and workflowsContribute to evolving product and delivery standards across the organizationRequired Experience & Qualifications5+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar client‑facing product delivery roleProven experience owning product backlogs and prioritisation from discovery through releaseExperience working closely with engineering teams in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong stakeholder management and facilitation skillsStrong preference for candidates with a UX‑led background, particularly those who have transitioned into Product Owner roles and are comfortable leading discovery, user flows, and design‑driven decision‑makingTechnical & Tooling ExperienceFamiliarity with Agile delivery tools (e.G., Jira, ClickUp, Confluence)Experience with design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Miro,
or similarSolid understanding of user‑centered design principles (IA, interaction design, accessibility)Awareness of accessibility standards (e.G., WCAG) and privacy considerations (e.G., PIPEDA, GDPR)Hands‑on exposure to AI tools supporting research, documentation, or design workflowsSoft Skills & AttributesStrong communicator able to translate complex concepts to technical and non‑technical audiencesComfortable leading in ambiguity and creating clarity from incomplete informationDesign‑first mindset with strong business and delivery awarenessCollaborative, proactive, and comfortable owning decisionsCalm under pressure and effective at balancing scope, timelines, and qualityCompensationBase salary range: $100,000 – $120,000 CAD per year, depending on experience and alignment with the roleBonus: ~20% Performance‑based bonus programEducation Budget: $1,500/yearBenefits: Health, dental, vision, prescriptions, and subsidised wellness programmesAffinity Earn:Know someone who’s great for this, or any of our open roles?
