Job SummaryAs a Trader reporting to the Senior Trader, you’ll support our interest rate derivatives and FX trading desk. In this front‑office role, you’ll help provide liquidity and market‑making services to credit unions across Canada. You’ll trade products such as interest rate swaps, bonds, FX (spot and forwards), bond forwards, equity derivatives, and interest rate futures. You’ll also help build models, improve processes, and deliver analytics across the business, while supporting trading operations, technology projects, and product development.What You’ll Be DoingExecute and clear institutional trades across the interest rate derivatives and FX portfolios, maintaining high accuracy in fast‑paced market conditionsMonitor and mitigate post‑trade risk through active portfolio consolidation and rigorous limit monitoringEnsure that deals are structured and managed within the parameters outlined in the Market Risk Policy and Investment StandardEnsure all account documentation and actions taken meet with Central 1 and external regulatory compliance requirementsParticipate in various department initiatives and special projectsDevelop and maintain close working relationships with other departmentsPrepare, monitor and enhance front‑office PnL and risk reportingWork collectively with other departments to ensure accurate data flow and reportingDesign and implement tools used for position and business managementMaintain,



enhance and develop business models and business analyticsProvide accurate and competitive product pricing to credit union and institutional clientsMaintain and manage active coverage with Canadian bank dealers to ensure competitive pricing and liquidity accessActively monitor global and domestic macroeconomic trends to anticipate shifts in the Canadian yield curve and FX marketsWhat You’ll HaveUniversity degree in economics/finance and/or quantitative disciplineChartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is an asset5+ years financial management experience with excellent understanding of fixed income and derivative marketsSelf‑starter. Ability to work with minimal supervisionStrong quantitative techniques, analytical skills and significant trading experience relating to fixed income securities and financial derivativesStrong competency in MS Office, with particular attention to ExcelStrong competency in programming and data management. Experience in VBA, R and Python programming languages is an assetDemonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities, and the ability to research and organize information into coherent recommendations and actionsSolid understanding of capital markets and interest in learning to trade and manage capital markets productsExperience in design and development of front office pricing,
