Role: Tandem Developer – Mainframe

Location: Toronto, ON – 4 days onsite

Contract Role

We are looking for a Tandem Developer with strong experience in HP NonStop/Tandem mainframe environments.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain applications on Tandem/HP NonStop systems.
Work with COBOL, TAL, and TACL programming languages.
Develop and support batch and online applications.
Perform coding, debugging, testing, and production support.
Work with SQL/Enscribe databases for data processing.
Analyze production issues and provide technical solutions.
Perform application enhancements and maintenance activities.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and other technical teams.
Prepare technical documentation and participate in code reviews.

Required Skills




5+ years of experience in Tandem/HP NonStop development.
Solid experience with Tandem COBOL.
Hands-on experience with TAL/TACL.
Good knowledge of SQL and Enscribe.
Experience with batch processing and production support.
Understanding of mainframe concepts and application architecture.
Valuable debugging and problem-solving skills.

Valuable to Have
Experience with Pathway.
Knowledge of Guardian operating system.
Experience with MQ or messaging systems.
Knowledge of C, Java, or other programming languages.
Experience in banking, financial services, or other high-volume transaction environments
