Job Title: Recycling Line Picker

Schedule: Monday – Friday
Shift: 8am-4pm
Payrate: $17.60/hour

Summary T
The Line Picker is responsible for manually sorting and separating recyclable materials (e.g. cardboard, paper, plastics, metals) on a processing line or conveyor belt. The goal is to ensure only appropriate recyclables move forward into processing — removing contaminants, non-recyclables, and ensuring quality.

Key Responsibilities
Stand and separate recyclable materials (e.g. cardboard, paper, plastics, metals) as they move along the belt.
Inspect incoming recyclable streams, identify unacceptable materials (contaminants, non-recyclables, hazardous items), and remove them from the stream.
Maintain quality control standards
Keep workstations and walkways clean, free of debris/trip hazards, and assist with cleaning or maintenance of basic equipment/tools as needed.

Requirements
Able to stand for long periods, bend, reach, lift and carry moderate to heavy weights (often up to ~50 lbs), and perform repetitive manual tasks.

Comfort working in quick-paced, noisy, industrial workplace.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, follow directions, and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
Reliability and good attendance; punctuality and ability to follow schedule and safety protocols.

Indoor facility (recycling plant or sorting facility), possibly around heavy equipment, conveyors, balers, compactors, and other machinery
Potential exposure to dust, noise, fluctuating temperatures, waste odors, and physical strain

Additional Preferred Skills (Not Mandatory)
Previous experience in recycling, waste management, or manual labour roles — though not always required, having such background can be beneficial.
Awareness of safety procedures and comfort working with PPE and potentially hazardous materials.
