Join our dynamic team as a Counsellor to support individuals in their healing journey from sexual violence trauma. In this role, you will provide compassionate, professional counselling services to people who have been affected by sexual abuse. Duties
Conduct confidential individual counselling sessions with clients
Facilitate group trauma informed therapy sessions or workshops focused on sexual abuse trauma, mental health awareness, stress management, or emotional resilience
Maintain detailed and accurate client records and session notes
Collaborate with other health professionals, social service workers, or community organizations to coordinate comprehensive support services as required
Provide crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring client safety and appropriate follow-up actions
Educate clients about coping mechanisms, mental health resources, and self-care techniques to promote ongoing well-being
Stay informed about current best practices and participate in ongoing professional development

Skills




Proven experience in counselling or mental health support roles with a solid understanding of therapeutic techniques and trauma informed approaches
Excellent active listening skills combined with empathetic communication to build trust and rapport with clients
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, discretion, and cultural sensitivity
Strong organizational skills for managing client records and scheduling appointments efficiently
Knowledge of relevant ethical standards and confidentiality requirements in counselling practice
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with the team
Certification in counselling or psychotherapy from an accredited body; familiarity with crisis intervention protocols; experience working with diverse populations

Pay: $26.63 per hour
