Class 1 Low Bed Driver - Nanaimo, BC

Our client is a logistics and transportation company specializing in the secure and efficient movement of heavy machinery, equipment, and oversized loads across various industries.

Our client is looking for a Class 1 Driver to transport heavy equipment and oversized loads using a low-bed trailer.

Responsibilities:
Operate low-bed and heavy-haul trucks safely and efficiently.
Transport heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and other machinery.
Load, unload, position, and secure equipment and oversized loads properly.
Conduct thorough inspections of trucks, trailers, chains, straps, binders, and securing equipment before each trip.
Complete daily vehicle inspection reports and maintain required documentation.
Plan and follow safe, efficient routes, including those suitable for oversized or overweight loads.

Qualifications:
Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license.
Experience with low-bed, flat-deck, heavy-haul, or equipment transport preferred.




Experience hauling heavy construction or industrial equipment.
Ability to operate heavy equipment.
Knowledge of load securement requirements and oversized-load regulations.
Strong understanding of vehicle weights, dimensions, and weight distribution.
Strong safety record and professional driving habits.
Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks related to loading and securing equipment.
