Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in debt collection and Small Claims Court procedures, and is comfortable managing files independently in a fast-paced legal environment.

*Please do not apply if you are an articling student, a Lawyer, or have long-term goals to be a lawyer. This role is for a Paralegal.

Role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Maintain and manage accurate and organized debt collection files from initial demand through to resolution

· Prepare and file Small Claims Court documents (claims, defences, motions, etc.)

· Communicate with clients, debtors, and third parties in a skilled manner

· Draft correspondence and legal documents with attention to detail and accuracy





· Attend court or tribunals as required

· Track deadlines and ensure timely progression of files

· Extremely effective and adept organizational skills to manage simultaneous tasks effectively

· Negotiate settlements where appropriate

Requirements

· Paralegal diploma

· Licensed Paralegal

· Experience with debt collection and Small Claims Court is preferred

· Strong organizational and time management skills

· Excellent written and verbal communications

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
