Open until Filled Dave McNeilly Public School is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our instructional team in the role of

Grade 1 Teacher. Requirements:

Bachelor of Education Degree

Desired Qualifications/Skills: Strengths and experience in elementary A child-centred approach to instruction and teacher-student relationships Effective organizational skills and classroom management An understanding of Leader in Me An understanding of inquiry-based learning is an asset. An ability to design and implement Individual Program Plans for special needs students. A commitment to working collaboratively with colleagues and in skilled learning communities. An ability to differentiate instruction according to students' learning styles and abilities. A history and ability to participate in the school community beyond the classroom.



An ability to establish productive relationships with parents. A commitment to continuous professional growth. A commitment to the Assessment for Learning model. A background in effective literacy intervention. A proven track record of positive classroom inclusion. The successful candidate will be required to provide a criminal record/vulnerable sector check which will be reviewed to ensure suitability of the candidate for the position. All candidates must hold or be able to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate, have knowledge of curriculum and teaching experience at those levels/subject areas and demonstrated interpersonal and classroom management skills FMPSD may contact past and present employers for references. All FMPSD employees are expected to be computer literate; this includes fluency with e-mail, internet, MS Office, Google mail, docs and sheets.
