We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic accounting firm. We offer work experience is several areas (audit, financial statement preparation, tax) for those looking to grow their accounting and tax knowledge and/or complete their CPA work experience requirement. This position requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Assisting clients with bookkeeping and accounting needs
Timely preparation of quarter-end and year-end working paper files and related financial statements for a variety of public and private clients in various industries.
Analyzing accounting issues in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards
Assisting with preparation of audit files for a variety of public company clients
Preparation of various tax returns and information slips, including T1 personal tax returns, T2 corporate tax returns, T4 and T5 slips, GST returns, etc.
Requirements
Post-secondary degree/diploma in accounting
At least 2 years recent working experience in public practice
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel and experience with various accounting and tax software, such as CaseWare, QuickBooks and Sage 50
Ability to multi-task and work independently
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent organization and time-management skills
Excellent attention to details and accuracy
