Position Overview

We’re seeking a knowledgeable and organized Parts Shipper/Receiver to support our busy mechanic shop. In this role, you’ll help, source, manage, and distribute essential parts and supplies to our team’s work. You’ll play a key role in assisting our Parts Supervisor and keeping repairs effective, accurate, and on schedule. We are a large forestry contractor working across the mid Vancouver Island, with many pieces of heavy equipment and commercial vehicles, and over 30 years in the industry.

Key Responsibilities
Parts sourcing — Identify, locate, and order specialized components from multiple vendors.
Inventory control — Maintain accurate stock levels, perform cycle counts, and manage reorder points.
Vendor management — Build strong supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing and reliable delivery.
Work order support — Prepare parts kits, track usage, and ensure timely availability for ongoing jobs.
Mechanic and operator assistance — Provide parts lookups and product guidance to mechanics and equipment operators.
Data accuracy — Update inventory systems,



process invoices, and maintain detailed records.

Qualifications
Experience with automotive repairs & parts and/or heavy equipment (preferred).
Self motivated and ability to work well in a team and individually.
Understanding of mechanical components and equipment systems (preferred).
Proficiency with computers and navigating software.
Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
Ability to lift to 50 lbs and work in a shop setting.
Valid driver’s license.
