Job Overview

Responsible for facing product on shelves and maintaining meat counters including cleaning.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Wraps, weighs and prices meat as directed by Manager.
Maintains display case by stocking wrapped meat, labeling and rotating the product, and updating the signage and price tags.
Assists with the unloading of boxes from receiving, unpacks and stores product.
Maintains Health and Safety and Food Safety compliance by cleaning and disinfecting work areas including counters, display and storage areas, floors, sinks, and equipment.
Provides customer service by greeting customers, and responding to their inquiries.
Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

· Grade 10 or an equivalent or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Previous experience would be an asset*

Skills

· Valuable customer service skills

· Ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers

· Ability to work independently in a rapid paced environment





· Physical ability to perform the duties of the job

Working Conditions

· Lifting and moving weights of 10 - 20 kilograms (e.g., case-ready meat products)

· Collecting product from refrigerated meat areas and putting it out for display

· Some reaching while putting meat products into display areas or culling products

· Exposure to cool or cold temperatures while retrieving and placing product into displays areas

· Exposure to chemicals used for cleaning and disinfecting display areas and general work areas
