About the Position

We are looking for a Junior Bookkeeper to join our growing bookkeeping practice. This is a part-time position that would be a outstanding fit for someone who has solid bookkeeping experience, enjoys working independently, and is comfortable working with multiple accounting software platforms.

The majority of the work can be completed remotely, with occasional in-person work required in the Halifax area.

As our business continues to grow, there is potential for increased hours and a full-time position for the right person.

Responsibilities
Day-to-day bookkeeping for a variety of small business clients
Recording and categorizing transactions
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Accounts payable and accounts receivable
Preparing HST reports and assisting with filings
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client records
Data entry and bookkeeping cleanup
Working with client documentation and communicating with clients as needed
Assisting with month-end and year-end bookkeeping




Other bookkeeping and administrative tasks as required

Qualifications & Experience

Required:
Previous bookkeeping experience
Experience with:
Sage 50
Sage 100 Contractor
QuickBooks Online
Xero
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Good organizational and communication skills
Comfortable working remotely
Ability to maintain client confidentiality

Experience working with multiple businesses or in a bookkeeping/accounting firm environment would be an asset.

$20–$25/hour, depending on experience
