Heavy Duty Mechanic

$40 - $50 an hour

Full Time – plus overtime

Job qualifications
A Red Seal Mechanic Certification is required.
Valid Inspection Certification is required.
Valid class 3 Driver’s License.
Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) Inspection Certification is an asset.
Minimum of 3 (three) years’ experience as a Mechanic is an asset.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipment issues.
Repair major equipment breakdowns.
Disassemble, inspect, repair and reassemble engines, transmissions and other major components.
Diagnose and repair cooling, fuel, exhaust, braking, clutch, differential, hydraulic, electrical and lubrication systems.
Prepare maintenance reports and service records.
Recommend practical and cutting-edge repair solutions.
Apply industry best practices when maintaining and repairing equipment.
Work independently and collaboratively as part of a maintenance team.
Maintain,



clean and basic daily maintenance of equipment and tools.
Experience working with off-road heavy equipment.
Capable of performing heavy physical duties.
Willing to work in extreme weather conditions.
Ability to work overtime as required.
Robust communications and interpersonal skills.
Safety conscious.
Dedicated and committed.

Job duties include the following:
Completing various repairs to fleet of road maintenance equipment including dump trucks, loaders, pickups, tandem highway trucks, backhoes, excavators, etc.
Completing, recording and reporting the appropriate documentation for any and all items requiring repair, maintenance or cleaning.

Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
