The Ontario Catholic School Graduate Expectations our Catholic values, and the Board's Pastoral Plans are foundational to our exemplary approach to teaching and learning in the 21st Century.With a staff of 14,000, the TCDSB is a dynamic school board and is seeking apositionforaManager,Operations & Maintenancewithin theEnvironmental Support Servicesdepartment.All interested applicants are welcome to apply, we are an inclusive employer.Key AccountabilitiesReporting to and under the direction of the Head, Facilities & Environmental Services, the primary function of this position is to provide effective direction and coordination of all operational aspects of facilities with an emphasis on custodial operations and general maintenance in the school facilities and grounds.Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and performance guidance to a team of supervisors in matters relating to labour relations issues/disputes, staff training and team building, in collaboration with the Head of Facilities & Environmental ServicesAssist with recommendations for policies, procedures, guidelines and business processes for the ESS DepartmentWork collaboratively with ESS Managers and other Board departments and internal/external stakeholders for report writing,
budget preparation and to develop and standardize effective and equitable procedures within the Facilities Department for new construction and existing infrastructure and assets in Board facilities, school buildings and groundsOversee the preparation and evaluation of tenders and administer contract documents, conduct audits on contractor activities and authorize payments in accordance with contract provisions and Board approved procurement policies and standardsEffectively manage all assigned budgets, projects and contracted services and audit department expenditures on a regular basisParticipate in department management meetings, committees, and system-wide Facilities initiatives and proposed facility projects and plans as requiredPerform other duties as assigned or requiredRequirementsA relevant degree from a recognized university or college or an equivalent combination of education and experienceProfessional designation in Property Management/Real Property Administration such as RPA or FMA an assetMinimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in Property Management preferably in the education sectorDirect leadership and management experience with a large, unionized employerExcellent written communication and interpersonal skills a mustAdvanced computer skills in MS Office productsThorough knowledge of Health & Safety and fire safety regulations and other relevant regulations and codes relating to facilitiesExcellent organizational, time management,
