Play a crucial role in addiction support as an Outreach Counsellor with the Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle. This unique position emphasizes Indigenous self-determination and comprehensive care for substance use.

As part of the Mobile Withdrawal Management Service, you will provide direct services, assessments, and team-oriented treatment planning tailored to the needs of Indigenous clients. This position requires evening and weekend hours to facilitate effective client support and utilize community resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities:



• Negotiate treatment while assessing substance use challenges • Deliver individual and group counselling sessions • Manage withdrawal symptoms through supportive techniques • Connect clients with essential community resources • Support the development of a natural support system

Requirements: • Relevant post-secondary education or experience in mental health • Experience in culturally protected care for Indigenous communities • Knowledge of community addiction services • Valid driver's licence and vehicle access • Solid analytical and multi-tasking abilities
