Position Summary
Oxford Learning is seeking a part‑time teacher‑tutor to provide after‑school and evening instruction in mathematics and science to students in grades 9‑12. The role is fully pre‑planned; teachers receive comprehensive training in our proprietary methodologies.
Position Requirements
Work hours: 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm weekdays, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm Saturdays (some). Commitment through June preferred; summer extension desirable. In‑person only; must be able to commute to St. Albert. Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
University students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
Knowledge of Grades 9‑12 math (Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors) and science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
Experience
Teaching or tutoring experience at the Grade 9‑12 level.
Robust written and oral communication skills in English.
Solid math skills and ability to guide student understanding.
Ability to multitask and manage up to three students simultaneously.
Responsibilities
Teach up to three students at a time across various levels.
Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
Maintain post‑lesson notes and daily student communication updates.
Provide a friendly, qualified setting at all times.
