Duties

- Operate and control directional drilling equipment with precision to install underground utilities such as pipelines, cables, or conduits
- Use specialized locating tools and techniques to accurately identify existing underground infrastructure before drilling begins
- Read and interpret project plans, maps, and technical drawings to ensure accurate alignment and positioning of utilities
- Maintain detailed records of drilling activities, including depth, location, and equipment performance
- Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment such as excavators
- Assist with setup and calibration of horizontal drilling systems for efficient project execution




- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation, construction sites, and underground utility work

Qualifications

- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues on machinery such as Vermeer or similar brands
- Familiarity with horizontal directional drilling techniques and related tools
- Valid driver’s license. Minimum g but preference given to az/dz for transporting equipment or materials as needed
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and procedures
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret utility maps accurately
- Prior construction experience with a focus on underground utilities or heavy equipment operation is highly preferred
