One98Eight is a chef-owned, independent restaurant in Canmore serving scratch-made global cuisine. We make as much as possible in-house and care about good food, genuine hospitality and creating a great experience for our guests.
We’re a small team, so everyone plays an important role. We’re looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, curious and genuinely interested in hospitality.
The Role
As a Server, you will:
- Welcome guests and provide warm, attentive service
- Take food and beverage orders accurately
- Learn our menu, ingredients and preparations
- Answer questions and make thoughtful recommendations
- Serve food and beverages according to our standards
- Prepare beverages and cocktails according to recipes
- Operate our POS and handle payments accurately
- Communicate with the kitchen and your teammates
- Maintain a clean and organized dining room
- Follow food safety and restaurant procedures
- Assist with opening and closing duties
What We’re Looking For
Previous restaurant experience is an asset, but attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is dependable, punctual and qualified
- Listens well and communicates clearly
- Takes initiative and doesn’t always wait to be told what needs to be done
- Takes an active interest in learning our menu and our standards
- Asks questions and seeks answers when they don’t know something
- Takes feedback well and puts it into practice
- Takes ownership of their work, including mistakes
- Becomes confident and independent in their role after training
- Cares about the guest experience and their teammates
What We Offer
$15–$17/hour + shared tips (typically averaging $5–$15/hour, depending on sales and shifts)
