GTA Repair provides residential handyman and maintenance services across the Greater Toronto Area. We work with homeowners and short-term rental properties, handling repairs, ongoing maintenance, and troubleshooting issues in existing homes.

We’re a small, growing business currently run by the owner. We’re looking for an experienced handyman who enjoys varied work and can develop into someone we trust to handle jobs and look after customers independently. You’ll work closely with the owner as you learn our approach, with training and support.

Jobs typically last from half a day to four days. The work changes from job to job, so this role suits someone who likes solving problems, takes pride in the details, and wants to keep learning. You do not need experience in every type of repair, but you do need a solid hands-on foundation and the judgment to recognize when a task is outside your experience.

Responsibilities

- Complete residential maintenance and repair work, including small carpentry projects, painting, drywall repairs, minor plumbing-related tasks, window and door repairs or adjustments, and furniture assembly.
- Assess existing problems, explain your findings, and carry out work within your skills and the agreed scope.
- Travel to jobs throughout the Greater Toronto Area and, as you become familiar with GTA Repair’s standards, manage assigned visits independently.




- Communicate professionally with homeowners and property contacts, including explaining what you are doing and why.
- Keep work areas tidy and treat customers’ homes and belongings with care.
- Log work completed each day, including clear notes and photos, and flag any follow-up work or concerns promptly.
- Learn new methods and processes as the range of work changes.

Experience
- Hands-on experience in residential handyman work, home maintenance, repairs, or a related construction trade.
- Ability to complete a range of common maintenance tasks and troubleshoot unfamiliar issues.
- Positive general knowledge of residential construction is an asset.
- Strong communication skills, sound judgment, reliability, and professional customer-service standards.
- Willingness to learn; experience in every area listed above is not required.
- Valid driver’s licence required.
- Your own vehicle and tools are preferred, but not required for the right candidate. The use or provision of a vehicle and tools can be discussed as part of the arrangement.
