Key Responsibilities
Team Supervision
Supervise and direct the members of the maintenance team within the location, setting goals, targets, and managing accordingly.
Preventive Maintenance
Follow the schedule of preventive maintenance and annual inspections.
Fleet Analysis
Analyze the fleet and make suggestions for improvements or purchases.
Subcontractor & Repair Oversight:
Assume responsibility for the approval and payment of any repairs on the company’s equipment that must be performed by subcontractors while keeping in contact with the District Manager.
Budgeting & Operations:
Work with Operations in the development and administration of the budget for maintenance and replacement of the equipment.
Compliance & Regulations:
Responsible for keeping equipment in compliance with company policies and regulations.
Health & Safety:
Ensure the health and safety of employees.
Reporting
Complete weekly reports.
Cost Management
Establish various management tools to improve cost management.
Staff Training
Ensure the training of the staff.
Additional Duties
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Education & Experience:
Post-secondary education, bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or 3 years of relevant work experience.
Licensing
Current Mechanic’s license and valid Driver’s License.
Software Knowledge
Knowledge of Microsoft software along with Trux, Ariett, GP and M5, or Dossier.
Communication & Organization:
Excellent communication skills, management priorities, and good organizational skills.
Financial Acumen
Knowledge of financial statements and general understanding of the department’s contributions to monthly financial statements.
Interpersonal Skills
Ability to deal with all levels of management; tactfully dispenses direct and actionable feedback and is open and direct with others.
Work Ethic
Ability to work under pressure.
Designation
Maintenance Management Professional designation is considered an asset.
