Freight Manager

Location: Vancouver, BC | Full-Time

DelGate Logistics is growing and is looking for an experienced Freight Manager to lead and expand our freight operations.

This is a leadership role for someone who understands the transportation industry, can build strong carrier relationships, manage a team, solve problems quickly, and ensure every shipment moves efficiently and profitably.

What you’ll be responsible for:

- Oversee day-to-day freight operations across FTL, LTL, intermodal, drayage, cross-border, and local transportation
- Lead, train, and manage freight coordinators and dispatch staff
- Build and maintain relationships with carriers, owner-operators, brokers, and customers
- Negotiate carrier rates and ensure competitive pricing and margins
- Quote freight opportunities and support the sales team on larger transportation solutions
- Monitor shipment progress, resolve delays, claims, service failures, and customer issues
- Review profitability, carrier performance, and operational KPIs
- Improve processes, systems, and reporting to support growth
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, insurance requirements, and internal procedures
- Work closely with warehouse, dispatch, customer service,



and account management teams

What we’re looking for:

- 3+ years of freight, transportation, logistics, or brokerage management experience
- Robust understanding of Canadian freight markets, including FTL and LTL
- Experience with carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, dispatch, and freight quoting
- Proven ability to manage people and keep a fast-paced operation organized
- Strong communication, customer-service, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with TMS/CRM systems, Excel, and operational reporting
- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and urgency
