We are searching on behalf of our client located in the Windsor region, for an experienced General Manager for a metal stamping facility.

Position Summary The General Manager has complete P&L; (Profit and Loss) ownership and strategic leadership for the stamping facility.

This role oversees tool and die maintenance, press line operations, quality assurance, supply chain, and EHS (Workplace, Health, and Safety) compliance.

The ideal leader uses Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to optimize high-volume metal forming and press efficiency.

Key Responsibilities Operations & Production Management Direct daily plant manufacturing activities, including progressive and transfer stamping press lines, secondary operations, and assembly cells.

Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), scrap reduction, press downtime, and on-time delivery.

Oversee tooling lifecycle management, die maintenance schedules, and rapid changeover (SMED) initiatives.

Financial & Strategic Leadership Own site P&L;, annual budgeting, capital expenditure planning, and operational cost controls.

Drive cost-out initiatives focused on raw material utilization, coil inventory turns, and labor productivity.

Develop long-term strategies for facility capacity expansion, press upgrades, and automation adoption.

Quality & Safety Compliance Maintain strict compliance with safety regulations, OSHA/local labor standards,



and environmental requirements.

Enforce robust quality control systems to prevent stamping defects (e.g., splitting, wrinkling, springback, dimensional drift).

Support customer audits and ensure adherence to automotive or industrial quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949 / ISO 9001).

People Leadership & Talent Development Build and mentor a high-performing leadership team across production, engineering, quality, and supply chain.

Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement (Lean/Six Sigma).

Oversee staffing, skills training, performance management, and employee engagement programs.

Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Business Administration (Masters/MBA preferred).

Experience: 10+ years of progressive manufacturing operations experience, with at least 5 years in a plant manager or general manager rolespecifically within metal stamping, automotive tier manufacturing, or heavy sheet metal fabrication.

Technical Skills: Deep working knowledge of metal forming processes, progressive/transfer dies, press automation, coil handling, and Blueprint/CAD data interpretation.

Core Competencies: Demonstrated P&L; accountability, Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma certification, exceptional cross-functional communication, and robust problem-solving skills under tight production deadlines.
