HR Generalist – 3-Month Contract

Location: Bolton, ON

Employment Type: Temporary Contract – Approximately 3 Months

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $40.00 – $44.00/hour

Work Arrangement: On-site, 5 days per week

Start: Immediate availability preferred

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to provide temporary support to the Human Resources team. This role will support a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, policy administration, performance management, labour relations, and HR compliance.

The successful candidate must have strong experience working in a unionized environment , including interpreting collective agreements and supporting labour relations matters.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR inquiries.
- Support employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, and workplace issues.
- Partner with managers to ensure consistent application of HR policies, employment standards, and collective agreement provisions.
- Provide guidance on labour relations matters, grievances, disciplinary processes, attendance management, and contract interpretation.
- Support performance management, employee development, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate leaves of absence, accommodations, and return-to-work programs.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data.
- Support payroll and benefits administration as required.




- Ensure compliance with applicable Canadian federal and provincial employment legislation.
- Provide day-to-day HR support while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity.
- Mandatory experience working in a unionized environment and supporting labour relations.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting collective agreements and handling grievances.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation.
- Experience advising managers on employee relations and performance management matters.
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field.
- CHRP designation or progress toward the designation is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting multiple locations or remote business units.
- Bilingual English/French is considered an asset.
- Robust organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to a temporary assignment and provide immediate HR support.

Contract Details

- Approximately 3-month temporary contract , depending on business needs.
- Monday to Friday, 5 days per week on-site in Bolton.
- Immediate availability is strongly preferred.
- Interviews are expected to begin as soon as possible.
