XtraSolar is a licensed electrical and solar contractor serving Kelowna, Vernon, Kamloops and the rest of the Okanagan. We install residential and commercial solar, battery backup and EV charging, and we take on general residential, commercial and renovation electrical work. We're a small, growing crew, so you'll work directly with the owners, have real input on how jobs get done, and have room to move into a lead or supervisory role as we grow.
What you'll do
- Install and commission grid-tied solar PV systems (microinverter and string), battery storage, and backup power systems
- Run service upgrades, panel changes, rough-ins and finishes on residential and light commercial jobs
- Install EV chargers and complete general electrical service calls
- Lead and mentor apprentices on site and keep jobs protected, clean and code-compliant (CEC)
- Handle utility interconnection details for FortisBC and BC Hydro net metering installs
What you need
- BC Electrician certification (Red Seal Construction Electrician or BC Certificate of Qualification)
- Valid BC driver's licence and reliable transportation to the shop and job sites
- Comfort working on roofs and at heights, with fall protection training (or willingness to get it)
Nice to have
- Solar PV, battery storage or EV charger experience
- Field Safety Representative (FSR) licence
- Experience leading apprentices
