QUALIFICATIONS High school graduation plus a Phlebotomy certification of 8 weeks or equivalent. Ability to attend work on a regular basis. Ability to perform the duties of the position. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Phlebotomist is responsible for: Ensures patient identification matches with order sheet. Enters requisition data; prints bar code labels and labels specimens. Draws venous and capillary blood for analysis. Records procedures and tests; compiles statistics. Collects specimens such as urea breath tests, sweat chloride as required. Prepares and transports specimens to laboratory according to Transportation of Dangerous positive requirements.
