We work with an extensive network of Canadian and international carriers to provide LTL and FTL freight, parcel shipping, cross-border transportation and customized logistics solutions.
As our Canadian commercial freight business continues to grow, we are looking for a bilingual Logistics Account Representative who combines excellent customer service with a proactive approach to business development.
This role offers the opportunity to work with existing business customers, connect with businesses that have already registered on our platform, identify new shipping opportunities and help customers make better use of our logistics services.
About the Role
We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping customers, takes ownership of their work and is motivated to build lasting business relationships.
You will be responsible for supporting our existing commercial freight customers while identifying and converting potential business opportunities from our growing base of registered users and inbound sales leads.
You will work closely with our logistics operations, carrier relations and finance teams to provide competitive freight quotes, coordinate shipping solutions and ensure a positive customer experience.
This is a hybrid customer service and inside sales role, with opportunities to grow into account management and business development as our business expands.
Key Responsibilities1. B2B Customer Service & Account Management
- Manage and maintain relationships with assigned commercial freight customers, including several of our key accounts.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for shipping inquiries, service issues and account-related questions.
- Understand customers' shipping requirements and recommend suitable transportation solutions.
- Coordinate with our operations team to resolve shipment delays, missed pickups, delivery issues and other service exceptions.
- Follow up on significant customer concerns and ensure issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
- Build long-term customer relationships through responsive communication, reliable follow-up and consistent service.
1. Registered Customer Engagement & Sales Conversion
- Proactively contact newly registered business customers and qualified inbound leads through phone calls, emails and other communication channels.
- Understand prospective customers' shipping volume, transportation needs,
current shipping arrangements and business challenges.
- Introduce UUCargo's shipping platform, carrier network and available services.
- Conduct introductory calls and provide platform demonstrations to help customers understand our quoting and booking process.
- Follow up with customers who have registered or requested quotes but have not yet placed their first order.
- Identify high-potential accounts and develop opportunities for recurring freight business.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities and follow-up schedules in our CRM.
1. LTL Freight Quoting & Sales Support
- Prepare and manage spot quotes for Canadian domestic LTL shipments.
- Review shipment details, including dimensions, weight, pickup and delivery locations, accessorial requirements and service expectations.
- Communicate with carrier partners to obtain competitive rates and suitable transportation options.
- Follow up on outstanding quotes and work with customers to convert qualified opportunities into confirmed bookings.
- Collaborate with our carrier development team when shipments require specialized equipment or additional transportation resources.
1. Customer Success & Operational Coordination
- Work closely with our operations team to ensure a smooth handover from booking to shipment execution.
- Support the resolution of complex shipping issues that require additional carrier communication or customer coordination.
- Keep customers informed of key shipment updates, service disruptions and potential additional charges.
- Coordinate with our billing and claims team when shipment discrepancies, accessorial charges or claims arise.
- Identify recurring operational problems and provide feedback to improve our internal processes and customer experience.
Qualifications
Required
- At least one year of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, third-party logistics (3PL) or a related industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
- Previous experience in customer service, account coordination, account management or a customer-facing logistics role.
- Good understanding of freight transportation and common shipping processes.
- Comfortable communicating with customers and carriers by phone and email.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple customer requests and follow-ups.
- A proactive approach to identifying customer needs and following through on commitments.
- Comfortable learning and working with CRM platforms and online shipping systems.
Preferred
- Experience with Canadian domestic LTL freight or freight brokerage.
- Experience in B2B sales, inside sales, customer retention or lead conversion.
- Familiarity with freight quoting, pickup coordination, shipment tracking and accessorial charges.
- Experience working with Canadian carriers or commercial shipping accounts.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Lark or similar business collaboration platforms is an asset.
