Time Type: Full Time Compensation: Salary starting at $45,000, plus eligible benefits, in accordance with experience and internal equity ***This posting is for an existing vacancy and not intended to create a talent pipeline OR This posting is to build a candidate pool for future vacancies in this role*** Core Purpose and Essence of the Position: The HSE Coordinator is responsible for keeping track of required safety plans, audits, and training requirements and strives to ensure that plans and inspections are completed and up to date.

The Health & Safety Assistant may enlist the assistance of other staff to complete these activities.

This position is expected to uphold and comply with all regulatory, corporate and site-specific policies, procedures, and safety rules. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Practice secure working techniques and re-enforce the safety policies, guidelines, and procedures as set out by the company and the client Provide daily guidance and direction in HS programs at the employee / supervisor level to ensure a common and effective approach Responsible for assisting in the identification of possible losses; evaluating the risk in such loss exposure; developing and implementing a plan to correct or prevent a loss and audit the plan to ensure its effectiveness Ensure that contractor personnel working on the property follow DSV policies and safety requirements Maintain and update as needed SOPs for all protected work practices and equipment and utilize them in the day-to-day training Provide advice, assist, and audit line management to ensure that effective HS is implemented and working Perform and contribute to the site training plan by conducting safety trainings, emergency response training,



and coordination of modular training programs for the operation Ensure inspections by regulatory agencies are coordinated and deficiencies minimized and corrected Coordinate with Site Supervisor, Operations on facility deficiencies and monthly safety inspections Maintain all logs and documentation associated with permits and regulatory requirements Assist with maintaining the site preparedness and emergency plans & procedures Review accidents and incidents which occur and conduct audits, reporting and managing the corrective actions and upload reports into database Maintain filing systems regarding worker training and safety Maintain working relationships with external agencies and participate in the Safety team meetings Manage team base risk assessments and the process and regularly conduct training needs analysis. PRIMARY INTERACTIONS: The primary exchange will be working with Warehouse Operations Staff. REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, SKILLS: Communication Skills Good verbal and written communication skills Computer Skills Proficient in MS Word (Outlook and Excel) HRIS knowledge Other Excellent attention to detail skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas Working knowledge of computerized applications (word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, email) Willing to work different shifts as dictated by business needs. MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:



High school diploma or equivalent One-year related experience and/or training directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified Prior experience in safety observations/inspections, developing and implementing compliance strategies Knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and other federal safety standards, principles, practices, and techniques. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position may require standing and walking for up to 60% of the time.

Ability to lift boxes weighting up to 30 pounds.
