About Vitality IV

Vitality IV is an RN-owned clinic preparing to offer prescribed iron infusions and vitamin B12 injections in Halifax.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to support clinic development, patient assessments, prescribing and clinical consultation during agreed treatment hours.

Responsibilities

Clinic setup and clinical documents

- Collaborate with the RN owner to develop and review clinical policies, procedures and patient eligibility criteria.
- Develop, review and, where appropriate, authorize and sign care directives, medication orders and related clinical documents within your scope and the clinic’s agreed care arrangements.
- Define when directives apply, contraindications, monitoring requirements, documentation and escalation procedures.
- Help establish protocols for infusion reactions, anaphylaxis and other urgent concerns, including on-site response and emergency services escalation.
- Participate in scheduled reviews and updates of these documents.

Patient care
- Conduct virtual assessments when clinically appropriate.
- Review health history, laboratory results, medications and existing prescriptions.
- Determine treatment suitability and prescribe within your scope and competence.
- Arrange investigations, follow-up or referrals as needed.
- Maintain clinical records and communicate with referring providers.

Clinical availability
- Provide timely clinical consultation during agreed infusion hours.




- Establish clear response expectations and arrangements for periods of unavailability.

Qualifications
- Current NP registration authorizing practice with patients in Nova Scotia.
- Qualified liability protection appropriate to the role.
- Experience managing iron deficiency, anemia and vitamin B12 deficiency.
- Experience developing clinical protocols or care directives.
- Strong clinical judgment and comfort with virtual care.
- IV iron experience is an asset.

Schedule and compensation Initially, the clinic anticipates operating one or two weekdays per week, with volume building gradually.

Compensation for clinic setup, document development and review, patient assessments, and scheduled on-call availability will be agreed in advance. Patient volume is not guaranteed during startup.

Start date and availability will be discussed as opening preparations progress.

Compensation: $75-$100 CAD per hour, depending on experience.

Paid work includes patient assessments, documentation, and agreed clinical policy and care-directive development. Scheduled on-call availability and response expectations will be negotiated separately.

Adaptable contract hours, with limited initial volume as the clinic prepares to open.
