About Good World Materials

Good World Materials is a growing Canadian manufacturer turning recovered plastic waste into architectural materials, furniture and custom products.

We're a small company with a big goal: to create economically useful applications for plastic waste and demonstrate that recovered materials can become products people actually want to specify, buy and use.

One of our core products is Looptile™, a customizable architectural tile and panel system made from recovered plastic. We also produce larger panels, surfaces, furniture and custom products for commercial applications.

We're looking for someone to help us get these materials in front of the right people.

The role

We're hiring a part-time Business Development Representative to identify and develop opportunities with architects, interior designers, landscape architects, contractors, developers, hospitality businesses and other commercial clients.

Your job is to find the right people, start conversations and develop qualified opportunities.

You'll have a high degree of independence in how you approach the role. That could include LinkedIn prospecting, email, phone outreach, industry contacts, project research, networking or simply finding creative ways to get our materials in front of people who could use them.

All contacts, conversations and follow-ups will be maintained in our company CRM so we're building a long-term sales pipeline together.

When a conversation reaches the technical, custom design, quoting or ordering stage, you'll hand the chance over to the founder. You don't need to be an engineer or manufacturing expert. We'll handle that side.

Product samples can also be shipped directly by us to prospective clients anywhere in Canada.

What you'll do

- Identify potential commercial customers and projects

- Find and contact relevant decision-makers and specifiers
- Introduce Good World Materials and Looptile™
- Prospect through LinkedIn, email, phone and other channels
- Build relationships with architects, designers and commercial clients
- Follow up consistently with prospects
- Qualify potential projects and opportunities
- Arrange samples for interested prospects
- Maintain accurate contacts, notes and follow-ups in our CRM
- Hand qualified opportunities over when technical discussions, quotations or orders are required
- Help us learn which markets and applications have the greatest potential

Who we're looking for

We're more interested in the right person than a specific résumé.

Experience in architecture, interior design, commercial furniture, construction, building materials, architectural products or B2B sales would be particularly valuable.

Existing relationships with architects, designers, contractors, developers or commercial clients are a major asset, but aren't required.

You'll probably enjoy this role if you're:

- Comfortable approaching people you've never met
- Persistent without being pushy
- Good at finding the right person inside an organization
- Organized about following up
- Able to work independently without constant direction
- Interested in architecture, design, sustainability or materials
- Entrepreneurial and excited by building something at an early stage

Compensation

$20–$40/hour commission

We're flexible about how compensation is structured and are open to discussing the balance between hourly pay and commission with the right candidate.

Some candidates may prefer a higher hourly rate with a lower commission, while someone confident in their ability to generate business may prefer a lower hourly rate with greater commission upside.

Up to 5 hours per week to start.

The role is intentionally starting small. As you demonstrate an ability to generate opportunities and as Good World Materials grows, there is potential for the role, hours and responsibilities to grow with it.

Location & schedule

This is a remote position within Canada with a highly flexible schedule.

Candidates in Vancouver and Toronto are of particular interest due to the size of their architecture and design communities, but location is not a requirement.

Why join us?

Good World Materials is still early, which means you won't be stepping into a large company with a rigid sales process.

You'll have the opportunity to help build that process, develop new markets and have a meaningful impact on where the company goes.

We're looking for someone who likes the idea of getting involved early, helping build a young Canadian company and creating real commercial demand for products made from recovered waste.

If that sounds engaging, we'd like to hear from you.

Pay: $20.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 5.0 per week

Benefits

- Flexible schedule
- Work from home

Application question(s):
- Do you have existing relationships with architects, interior designers, contractors, developers, or commercial clients? If yes, briefly describe your network.

Work Location: Remote
