Piano Teacher

Sol School of Music is looking for a highly qualified and experienced Piano Teacher to join our growing team in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

We are a busy and growing music school offering high-quality private music lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. We are looking for a professional, dependable, and enthusiastic piano teacher with a strong academic background in music and extensive knowledge of the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum.

Responsibilities

- Teach private piano lessons to children, teenagers, and adults
- Prepare structured and engaging lessons based on each student's level and goals
- Teach piano technique, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm, theory, and musicianship
- Prepare students for RCM practical and theory examinations
- Develop appropriate repertoire and study plans for students working toward RCM levels and exams
- Track student progress and provide clear guidance to students and parents
- Help students prepare for recitals, performances, auditions, and examinations
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school staff
- Maintain a positive, encouraging, and skilled learning environment
- Be punctual, organized, and maintain a consistent teaching schedule

Required Qualifications
- A university or college degree in Music, Piano Performance, Music Education, or a closely related field is required




- Strong and comprehensive knowledge of the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum
- Previous experience successfully preparing students for RCM examinations is required
- Strong knowledge of RCM repertoire, technical requirements, sight-reading, ear training, and examination expectations
- Previous professional piano teaching experience
- Strong piano performance and musicianship skills
- Ability to teach students from beginner through advanced levels
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, dependable, organized, and comfortable working with children
- Ability to maintain a consistent weekly teaching schedule

Applicants should be highly comfortable working within the RCM system and should have hands-on experience guiding students through the preparation and examination process.
