Our client, an established distribution company in Vaughan, is looking for a Purchaser to support purchasing, supplier relationships and product sourcing. This opportunity can be tailored to either a developing buyer or an experienced candidate with a robust track record of negotiating and delivering results.
Responsibilities
Purchase products and materials based on business requirements
Negotiate pricing, terms and delivery schedules with suppliers
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment
Research new products, suppliers and purchasing opportunities
Review pricing, availability and market conditions
Resolve supplier, delivery and product-quality concerns
Work closely with management, sales and warehouse teams
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve purchasing results
Qualifications
Previous purchasing, buying or procurement experience
Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills
Confident,
outgoing and comfortable building relationships
Eager to learn and open to training
Organized and able to manage multiple purchasing priorities
Strong communication and follow-up skills
Stable employment history
Food distribution, grocery or consumer-products experience is an asset
