The right people for these positions are passionate about community development, social justice, and are values-aligned with our organization.ABOUT YOUUsing a team approach Childcare Educator provides a developmentally appropriate Reggio inspired and inclusive quality Daycare Program for children. A Childcare Educator performs all of the following duties:Ensure curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices are in place in the daycareCo-create programming with staff team and children that supports and promotes the development of childrenAssess through innovative methods such as, but not limited to the use of anecdotal observations, finished products, photographs,



and written dialogueUse positive methods of discipline that is child-centered and respectfulAttend meetings and workshops to develop and discuss new teaching methodsInteract with children and staff to encourage their involvement in activitiesEnsure a safe environment for the children in our careGuide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habitsObserve children for signs of learning disabilities or emotional problems and take appropriate actionEstablish and maintain collaborative relationships with other community service providers working with childrenEstablish and maintain good communications with familiesEnsure room is clean and toys are disinfected, furniture is safe for children and any cleaning products or medicines are kept where children cannot get to themWork collaboratively with volunteersMay be required to work in other Kits House childcare programs to ensure continuity of care & ensure licensing regulations are metPerform other duties (as needed)ABOUT THE POSITIONUnder the direction and supervision of Children's Education Coordinator and the Lead Educator is engaged in providing care for children in the infant and toddler programs.
