Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and contribute to the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Prepare bank, balance sheet and subledger reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, government remittances and month-end and year-end working papers.
- Process monthly remittances
- Be familiar with union remittances and reconciliations.
- Remit monthly supplier payments.
- Supervise accounts receivables.
- Review and approve timesheets and weekly payroll processes.
- Upload and download software information to accounting software.
- Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, identifying areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks across the organization.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, analysis,



and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Utilize accounting software effectively to streamline processes and ensure data accuracy.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor adherence to internal controls and recommend enhancements to strengthen financial integrity

Qualifications

- Proven experience in accounting, experience in construction environment an asset.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Knowledge of risk management principles and practices relevant to finance operations.
- Experience conducting internal audits and understanding auditing standards.
- Proficiency with accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills.

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
