Role Description The Senior Mechanical Engineer role is a full-time, in office position based in Naughton, ON. This role is responsible for leading the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems for robotic and automation platforms used in harsh and specialized environments. Day-to-day tasks include creating and reviewing detailed mechanical designs, performing engineering calculations, preparing CAD models and drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on system integration.

Engineer will drive research and development initiatives, oversee prototyping and testing,



and support the transition from concept to manufacturable products. This position also involves mentoring junior engineers, managing project deliverables, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with experience applying core principles to complex systems and specialized environments.
- Proficiency in Machine Design, including component selection, mechanisms, and structural analysis for robotics and automation applications.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Demonstrated ability in Project Management, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D;), from concept generation and feasibility studies to prototyping, testing, and design optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; advanced degree or professional engineering designation is an asset.
- Experience with robotics, automation, mechatronics, or mining-related equipment is highly beneficial.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to document designs and present technical information clearly.
- Comfort working in an on-site engineering and prototyping environment, including occasional hands-on work with hardware and test setups.
