About our Organization

The Esquimalt Recreation Centre is a multi-purpose wellness and community recreation facility.

Features of the Recreation Centre include: 4500 + square foot Wellness Centre, featuring state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, gymnasium, aquatic centre with six-lane 25 metre lap pool, warm “lifestyle pool” and tot pool with spray features, wheelchair accessible hot-tub, steam room, and sauna. In addition, to recreation activities and programs, there are hundreds of year-round community programsto choose from.

About the Opportunity

The Recreation Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill a Birthday Party Host position. This is an auxiliary position with scheduled shifts on Saturdays and Sundays between 1:00pm and 4:00pm. Reporting to the Recreation Programmer - Child, Youth, and Family Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

The set-up and clean-up for the parties

Supervising the bouncy castle

Interacting with parents and engaging the children in games and activities.

Our Preferred Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

First Aid with CPR-C

Clear criminal record check including vulnerable sector check

Experience working with and supervising children

Salary: $22.98 hourly which includes 14% in lieu of benefits (2026 rates)
