This position provides essential accounting, fiscal, and administrative support to the Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (MPFA). The Accounting Technician is responsible for processing financial transactions, performing SWIFT entries, maintaining documentation for audit and compliance purposes, safeguarding and depositing receipts, supporting administrative and contract functions, and assisting with MPFA’s data management systems.

The incumbent plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate disbursements and deposits, maintaining organized fiscal records, supporting internal and external partners, and contributing to system improvements that enhance MPFA administrative efficiency.

This position is telework eligible. Staff are provided with the tools and equipment to be successful in a virtual work setting. Please note, the telework policy could change with notice based on business needs.

This posting may be used to fill multiple positions.

Minimum Qualifications One (1) year of experience performing accounting or fiscal support work, such as processing financial transactions, handling deposits or payments, maintaining financial records, or supporting financial operations.

Experience processing financial transactions such as payment vouchers, purchase orders, invoices, or deposit entries in an accounting or financial system.

Experience handling receipts or payments, including logging, reconciling, preparing deposits, or working with checks/EFTs.

Experience maintaining financial or administrative documentation and filing systems for audit, compliance, or internal review.

Experience providing customer service related to financial, administrative, or technical inquiries.





Experience using office or administrative software to prepare documents, track information, or support daily operations.

Knowledge of arithmetic sufficient to compute totals, averages, percentages, or reconcile financial data.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Minnesota’s Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT).

Experience working with document management systems such as OnBase.

Experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Experience preparing meeting minutes or supporting boards, committees, or governance bodies.

Experience in data entry, template formatting, and document indexing.
