We are seeking a talented Arc Welder to join our team in Guelph. This role is vital to ensuring effective operations within our facility. Join us and contribute to a company renowned for its durability and innovation.

Hours of Work: 4:20 PM – 2:20 AM, Monday to Thursday

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

- Select, prepare, and fit metal sections, and produce simple arc-welded assemblies within normal shop-run tolerances.

INSTRUCTION & SUPERVISION

- Works under normal to minimal supervision
- Follows customer orders and oral or written instructions, detailed blueprints, and job specifications of normal complexity

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT

- Hand tools: hammers, saws, files, scales, calipers, gauges, squares, jigs, fixtures, etc.
- Electric welder, electrodes, clamps, and portable electric tools such as drills and grinders

RESPONSIBILITIES & DIRECTION EXERCISED

- Responsible for maintaining quality specifications

SCOPE OF WORK & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

- Lay out work, prepare joints, and produce assemblies of commercially sound quality using electric arc welding (including shielded arc welding) in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions
- Perform simple calculations
- Possess knowledge of welding technology, including distortion control, equipment, and commonly used metals
- Understand normal shop-run tolerances
- Perform oil-tight welds
- Be familiar with all aspects of MIG, TIG, and Arc welding




- Other duties as assigned

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

- Basic computer skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail
