The Area General Manager leads the operations and performance of the Moments Hospitality Nanoose Bay portfolio, including Nanoose Bay Cafe, Fairwinds Residences, and Greenview Taphouse at Fairwinds Golf Course.
This is a hands‑on leadership role, with an expectation of being actively present across the properties — working alongside Managers and team members, supporting daily service, connecting with guests, coaching in the moment, and leading by example.
Reporting to the COO and working closely with executive leadership, the Area General Manager balances strong operational and financial leadership with our commitment to Honesty & Trust, True Guest Connection, Guiding the Guest, Anticipating Needs, One Team One Goal, and creating Memory Moments.

What You’ll Do
Provide strategic and operational oversight across all departments of the Nanoose Bay portfolio, including restaurants, bars, events, housekeeping, coffee shop and marketplace
Drive accountability and consistent execution of Moments Hospitality standards, systems and expectations
Maintain an active presence across properties, particularly during key service periods
Identify operational challenges and opportunities and take proactive action to improve performance
Lead by example and foster a culture of Honesty & Trust and One Team One Goal
Act as a senior escalation point for significant operational, employee, guest and business matters
Guest Experience
Champion genuine guest connection by guiding the guest, anticipating needs and creating memorable experiences
Engage directly with guests and coach teams to deliver active and proactive service
Monitor guest feedback and ensure concerns are resolved effectively and to Moments Hospitality standards
Protect the Moments Hospitality standard while tailoring its execution to the unique concept, audience, and experience of each property.
People & Performance
Build a culture of accountability, respect, collaboration and continuous improvement
Recruit, develop, coach and retain strong hospitality leaders and high-performing teams
Support General Managers with professional development, performance management and succession planning
Ensure onboarding, training and leadership development programs are implemented consistently
Oversee financial performance including budgets, forecasts, labour, costs, revenue and profitability
Identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve margins and control costs
Hold Managers accountable for staffing, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, maintenance and operational controls
Ensure compliance with health, safety, employment, liquor and regulatory requirements
Identify operational gaps and implement systems and solutions to improve efficiency
Sales, Community & Special Initiatives
Partner with Marketing & Communications to drive awareness, traffic and revenue
Build relationships with local businesses, tourism partners,
community organizations and Fairwinds Golf Course
Support events, weddings, golf events, private functions and special initiatives
Identify opportunities for new experiences, partnerships and revenue growth
Other duties as assigned
Our Ideal Candidate
5+ years of senior hospitality leadership experience
Experience leading multiple outlets, departments, properties or high-volume environments
Proven ability to lead, develop and inspire Managers and high-performing teams
Comprehensive knowledge of full‑service restaurant and beverage operations
Accommodation, golf, tourism or event experience is an asset
Strong financial understanding of budgeting, forecasting, labour, cost control and profitability A hands‑on hospitality leader who is comfortable working directly alongside the team and engaging with guests
Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands‑on operational involvement
Strong communication, organization and problem‑solving skills
Demonstrates honesty, openness, accountability and a collaborative leadership style
Passionate about hospitality, team development and creating exceptional guest experiences
Serving It Right Certification required
WSET or equivalent beverage education is an asset
