Yes Description: The Department of Surgery, Division of Orthopedic Surgery at St. Michael’s Hospital, Unity Health Torontois inviting applications for the position of academic orthopedic surgeon at the rank of

Assistant/ Associate Professor. The anticipated start date is Fall of 2027, with some flexibility. The successful candidate will join a dynamic nine-member division of orthopedic surgery and a multidisciplinary trauma program. It is expected that the chosen candidate will contribute to the continued growth, clinical excellence and innovation of the trauma and arthroplasty service at St. Michael’s Hospital. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is a requirement. Applicants should demonstrate a strong record of clinical excellence, scholarly productivity, and commitment to teaching and mentorship. The ideal candidate will complement existing strengths within theSt. Michael’s trauma and arthroplasty programs, and contribute to advancing evidence-based, patient-centered care, innovation and research excellence. We are seeking a surgeon-scientist/investigator orthopedic surgeon withfellowship training in both orthopedic trauma and total joint arthroplasty and young adult hip conditions. Specific expertise in acetabular trauma would be considered and asset. Additional expertise in advanced technologies including navigation and robotics is desirable.



The candidate should have an advanced degree and dedicated academic training with aspirations to pursue the surgeon-scientist or surgeon-investigator career path. Candidates must holdcertification in Orthopedic Surgery from theRoyal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canadaor a recognized equivalent certifying body and must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. A graduate degree such as MSc / PhD or equivalent research trainingin any of the following areas: clinical epidemiology, basic science, health services research, education scholarship, clinical trials or quality improvement is strongly preferred. Remuneration and rankas a member of the clinical faculty will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.Remuneration is in part related to clinical activity and within the usual range for an orthopaedic surgeon in the Province of Ontario, which exceeds $200,000 CAD per annum.
