CAD Student - Water (Fall 2026) - 10-12 Month Term Learning begins in the classroom but there's no better place to gain real-world experience than with Stantec. Interns are an integral part of our teams, working to solve some of the world's most complex challenges.

As an intern, you'll work alongside our experienced practitioners and with our clients and communities. This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success.

An opportunity exists for a Student to join our Water Team for a 10 -12-month term (October 2026 to August 2027) in Red Deer. You will work with close guidance and supervision on tasks for large and small projects in a team environment on a variety of water projects including water and wastewater plants, site grading, pump stations, water supply, distribution, etc.

Your Key Responsibilities

Uses knowledge of tools and drafting to complete assigned tasks including completing design changes, general arrangement drawing production, redlining, plotting, and drafting using CAD platforms noted below.

Will work closely with engineers and designers on assigned projects.

Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials

Robust interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Energetic, with a keen interest in learning about engineering workflows.

Ability to prioritize and take direction from the team.

Education and Experience

Completion of High School CAD training.

Completion of High School Diploma.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
