Love the mountains, creating content, and social media? We’re looking for an experienced Content Creator & Social Media Specialist to join the Cypress team and bring the mountain experience to life online. In this position you’ll lead our social media and photo/video content, capturing everything from powder days and events to guest experiences and the teams behind the scenes.

You’ll work with departments across the resort to create engaging content that showcases what makes Cypress unique. Strong skiing or snowboarding ability and outdoor photography/videography experience are required.

ESSENTAIL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to the following):

Drive all in-house, on-mountain photography and videography efforts by creating consistent content featuring current conditions, events, experiences, and products.

Complete daily social media monitoring, respond to online inquiries, and engage with the community across Instagram and Facebook to grow our channels.

Experience using TikTok and LinkedIn. Understand social media trends and adapt as needed for the strategy.

Support the Cypress Mountain social media strategy with idea generation, copywriting, scheduling, reporting, and managing the content calendar.

Responsible for launching the Cypress Bike Park social channels

Create bi-weekly reports to demonstrate growth and engagement across all channels.

Discover, communicate with and coordinate influencers/ athletes to support the content strategy.

Manage Content creators and/or Ambassadors and be responsible for their deliverables throughout the seasons.

Be the point of contact and coordinate logistics for photoshoots and media days.

Support the Marketing Manager with email copywriting, marketing promotional ideation and merchandise campaigns.

Assist the Marketing team with special projects and events as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES

Robust photography, videography, and editing skills.

Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

Ability to use a drone and digital camera for content capturing.

Ability to use Canva & Photoshop to basic level to update conditions posting, copy edits and other design changes.

Strong copywriting skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Ability to work a flexible schedule includes evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on the demands of the season.

Strong skiing or snowboarding ability and confidence in all terrain and conditions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Highschool or equivalent.

1-2 years of relevant experience creating content outdoors.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Legally able to work in Canada.

Valid BC driver’s license.

A reliable & insured vehicle with winter tires, to get to/from work (no shuttle service in the off-season months).
