Qualifications Educational Assistant Certificate or Diploma SMG (Protected Management Group) training First Aid and CPR Certification level C Able to swim on a regular and consistent basis Requirements Support students' growth in the areas of cognition, communication, physical and social development Support and/or implement teacher directed programming Work collaborative under guidance of teacher, CST and members of a multi-disciplinary team Complete student or safety documentation, if directed by supervisor Implement specialist (OT, PT, SLP, etc)



strategies to achieve required goals Implement behaviour management and educational strategies that facilitate student learning Communicate effectively with students using age appropriate positive reinforcements and/or school specific behaviour strategies Observe student behaviour with focus on achieving positive behavioural/educational outcomes and mitigate/prevent negative ones Provide high level of structure to facilitate completion of required learning outcomes Work and play at student's physical level of their activities Provide support in use of adaptive and learning technologies using a variety of devices and associated programs, including for speech and non-verbal communication Successfully implement the Positive Behaviour Plan(PBP), if required Swim program, able to swim in 50 meters, level 1 and 2 Medical Procedures – including, but not limited to, Catheter, Tube feeding, Feeding and swallowing support, toileting routines or diabetic monitoring may be required Able to understand, implement and support modified curriculum Able to work with and support students with Autism or complex medical needs Physically handle and
