About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Social Worker specializing in Child Protection to join their team in Kimberley . This critical role involves assessing child welfare concerns, intervening in cases of abuse and neglect, and working collaboratively with families, legal systems, and other stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of children. You will be at the forefront of protecting vulnerable young lives within the Northern Cape , requiring a strong commitment to advocacy and ethical practice. This position is based within the community, necessitating fieldwork and direct engagement.

Key Responsibilities

- Investigate allegations of child abuse, neglect, and endangerment, conducting thorough assessments.
- Develop and implement safety plans and child protection interventions.
- Provide support, counseling, and case management services to children and their families.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, courts, schools, and other agencies to ensure child safety.
- Prepare court reports and provide testimony as required.




- Advocate for the rights and needs of children within the child protection system.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW).
- Professional registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
- Proven experience in child protection services or child welfare.
- In-depth knowledge of child protection legislation and policies in South Africa , specifically the Northern Cape .
- Excellent assessment, crisis intervention, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex cases.
- Valid driver's license and ability to conduct home visits.
